David Lang is Mr. Spice, the founder of Mr. Spice Healthy Foods. Dave was raised on two things that added up to a recipe for success: condiments and family business.
When David’s family ate out in restaurants when he was a kid, David was known to ask the waitress if she might bring a variety of different sauces to try with his meal, and he turned burgers and potatoes into art projects of sauces and spices. At home he raided the cabinets in search unusual sauces, spices and ingredients to spice up his food.
David’s family was a family of entrepreneurs reaching back several generations, and surrounded by Grandfathers, Uncles and Dad always talking business, perhaps it was only a matter of time before David’s peculiar knack for spice would turn into something serious.
In 1984, David took a break from his university studies and headed into the mountains of the western USA to get a Master’s certificate in Herbalism. And it was then, when his penchant for tasty food fused with an intricate knowledge of the benefits and healthy potential of herbs, spices and vegetables, that the seed of his vision was born. David would fuse true health with true flavor through the use of carefully selected, top quality ingredients. Spice is life, in other words!
For over 22 years, David and his team have been committed to those founding values, and all Mr. Spice healthy food products must offer real health and terrific flavor, or they never make it into the bottle.
Mr. Spice Sauces Wins Taste Awards
All nine Mr. Spice® sauces have won blue ribbons in the prestigious American Royal International Sauce Contest in Kansas City, MO. This is not a contest just for special diets; Mr. Spice sauces were judged against a slew of contenders, mostly full of fat, salt and sugar… and we came out on top.

Successfully sticking with any diet is not just a matter of will, it's a matter of pleasure! When you can look forward to delicious meals that also meet your health goals, eating (and life) become so much easier.
That's where Mr. Spice comes in. Many "diet" foods start as a conventional food from a food manufacturing company which decides to make a restricted diet version (salt free, fa free, gluten free, etc.). They don't worry about the taste (no one really expects it to taste as good anyway, or so goes the conventional thinking) and just focus on getting that one bad ingredient off the label. When it comes to taste, this is a method that is doomed to fail.
At Mr. Spice we are exclusively devoted to creating gourmet quality foods that are specifically targeted to meet the restrictions of a wide variety of dietary needs.

Organic
All Mr. Spice sauces are certified organic by Quality Assurance International.
Gluten Free
Mr. Spice products are well known to people on gluten free diets. Thousands of celiacs have used our products for years. Some people have a mild sensitivity to gluten, and for others it can be life threatening. We are proud to say that every Mr. Spice product is gluten free.
Cholesterol Free, Vegan
The dangers of high cholesterol levels have been well publicized. Did you know that cholesterol in the diet comes only from animal foods? Many Mr. Spice products are vegan, and naturally free of cholesterol.
Weight Reduction, Low Calorie, Fat Free
With one exception (Thai Peanut Sauce, which is low fat) Mr. Spice sauces are fat free. All of our foods are also quite low in calories -- see the information on each product page for details.
Diabetic Control
Mr. Spice products can be quite helpful on a diabetic control diet. Exchange information is posted on each individual item page, and on every product label.
